Story

The YMCA has been in Warrington for 160 years and due to Warrington Borough Council withdrawing £38,000
In funding as part of its cost cutting measures

The YMCA in Winmarleigh st provides a valuable service for the homeless of Warrington by providing accommodation and advice and gives them a voice

To say I feel this closure must be avoided at all measures is an understatement - people are often made homeless due to circumstances beyond their control and we must all as compassionate humans do our best to help the vulnerable in the community .. ''There but for the grace of God go I"

As part of my efforts to help avoid the closure I am running the Chester Marathon on Sunday 2 October any donations, no matter how small - would be greatly appreciated

Thank you so much from the bottom of my heart. I have run 14 half marathons but only one marathon previously so running the Chester Marathon on the 2nd October for the YMCA is important to me. It's also just the first step. I intend to let my photography speak volumes for vulnerable people. Warrington Borough Council if I can run six hours for the YMCA , you can spend Monday debating a much better conclusion.
