Laptops for every student in Camden - 50 days in a row exercise challenge
Cora has experienced children close to her not being able to access online learning because their families cannot afford to buy each child expensive computers. This was the case in both her previous primary school and now at Parliament Hill school in Camden.
Cora believes very strongly that every child has the right to access education, and that it should not make a difference how rich or poor your family is - every child should be able to show and learn to their full potential!
During the Covid Pandemic the injustice of this divide had become even clearer to Cora - when home learning is the only way schooling can take place sometimes.
In addition, Cora is frustrated that all of her usual physical activities have been put on hold, and she has realised that this is true for everyone, and more importantly that it is bad for our physical and mental health.
She is hoping to also inspire her peers and even adults to be more physically active, so she is committing to doing some form of physical exercise for 50 days in a row starting on Monday the 11th January 2021. Her exercise will vary from her Zoom gym class, to Peleton bike rides, strength training and runs. She has set her training program out below for each week, and will be doing daily updates on what she is doing on various social media and on this Just Giving page.
Please sponsor her to raise money for 2 charities that focus on getting IT devices for every child who needs it.
Parli People is the Parliament Hill School PTA who are raising money for their own students to get laptops. So far they've raised nearly £7000 pounds but they need much more.
The other half of the money raised will go to the Camden Learning crowdfunding project End the Digital Divide for Camden Pupils as she is also concerned for kids outside her immediate community at school.
