Story
In June, this year I will be flying to Fiji to live and volunteer within a rural Fijian village for a month with Think Pacific. Think Pacific are a registered charity, in partnership with the government who work in remote villages and have made a difference to the lives of over 20,000 Fijian children since the charity was set up in 2009. During this time, I will be staying within the home of a Fijian family, which means I will by fully immersed into the traditional culture. I am extremely excited for this opportunity to inspire children by sharing my knowledge not only in the classroom but also through my enthusiasm and appreciation for sports, in particular, hockey. As well as making a positive difference to the children and the wider community, I hope that this experience will also develop my learning as I am studying to become a primary school teacher at the University of Edinburgh. This experience of a lifetime requires me to fundraise a significant amount of money therefore, any support and donations are greatly appreciated.
Thanks, in advanced:) Lara
