Story
In November 2017, myself and Athena as well as other students, will be going out to Kenya as a part of a college trip through African Adventures in order to volunteer in teaching, multi-sports and building classrooms and other facilities in order for them to have a better education. We will be staying in a small village called Nakuru for 10 nights.
In order to do this, for the next year we will be holding events such as sponsored runs, coffee morning/ bake sales, parachute/ sky dive, 24 hour events and much more to give them the best future possible. Please feel free to visit the African Adventures websites for more information on what they do. Our college have been going for 10 years now and every year students come back more mindful and understanding of just how well off a lot of us people are compared to how little they have. We think this trip will be good for us because it will not only change our perspective on how others live but also how lucky we are to have the lifestyle that we have.
When we go to Kenya we aim to take a suitcase each full of donated clothing for the children out there and also spending money to buy food and clean water for some of the children's homes which are actually just mud huts to last them a few months so that they don't have to worry about spending money for a while in order to save and hopefully be able to spend what they save on better living conditions.
Any donations would be so helpful to this cause, it doesn't have to be money even old football, rugby clubs kit or even just a pack of pencils or toothbrushes. It will be very much appreciated if you are able to donate.
Thank you very much.
Laura and Athena.
