I am trying to raise some money for my brother so that i am able to decorate his studio for him. My brother has suffered with severe mental health problems for a long while now and has been sectioned on many occassions without making a recovery. However the most recent months he has felt extremely low and has tried commited suicide several times as he simply cant cooe anymore. He has always found it really hard to accept help and talk about some traumatic experiences he suffered in his child life and growing up and i have been trying my hardest to empower him and make him get better and go on a journey to recovery and to find peace and happiness. So what i ask from very kind hearted people is if they can donate some money so i am able to redecorate his studio as he has a council property, they will not move due to the laws of him making himself ’intentionally homeless’ then they have no legal duty to offer any housing. He has been staying with me for a week due to not being able to go back to his property as he attempts suidice. The council have made there decision his house is ‘physically suitable’ and they dont take mental health needs into account, due to recent movements in mental health this shocks me! I have complained to relevant organisations as it baffles me and seems totally unjust. To put a long story short he has to go back to the property he has been in for a few years and as his illnesses have got so bad and the house he is in has so many bad memories. I strongly feel a freshly decorated house will help him to think more clearly and not have so many negative memories of the house. The current house he is in is one of his trigger points for a psychotic episode which is not only traumatic on himself but also the family. Its a very sad sitatuion to witness and see your brother try and kill himself.

The goal is £500 as i feel i can redcorate enough to make a difference with that and make his house nice, try and fill it with love and make it a homely place instead of the dark, scary place he feels it is. I have never done anything like this before but i ask if you can help my brother on his road to recovery so he can become happy, have a fresh start and by anyone donating you will be joining him on that journey and i can then show him this after, so his trust in humanity can be restored.

Unfortunatly the mental health system havent been much help despite being sectioned and being in hospital, resources just dont seem to be there and it seems for matthew it is a constant battle. However with your support to my brother i am able help him. Any money would be very much appreciated and go to such a good cause that I cant fully explain into words. My brother has had a Lifetime of battles from a very young age and without going into personal details he really does need a break and a fresh start, i wish to do this all as a surprise!!
