Louis my amazing son is 12 yrs old and was diagnosed with Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy when he was 5. Louis always has a cheeky smile on his face regardless what hurdles he's had to face.

When Louis was diagnosed it was heartbreaking knowing I couldn't do anything to make my little boy better. It's only been in the last year or so that I can now acknowledge it wasn't my fault.

Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy, is a condition which affects all the skeletal muscles which results in the loss of mobility as well as other problems as he gets older.
Louis has had to endure so many hospital appointments but he takes them in his stride. Having regular visits to Pembury, Evalina in London, Guys hospital for bone density scans, Heart scans, sleep studies to check oxygen levels whilst sleeping just to mention a few.

April this year, Louis lost the muscle strength in his legs resulting in not being able to walk and having to use a powered wheelchair.
Even though the current chair is funded through the NHS, as you can imagine it's not the most comfortable, he's outgrown it and unfortunately the wheelchair service are saying this chair is still suitable and without there say so a new chair can't be ordered so we are having to seek elsewhere.

So, I'm now fundraising to be able to purchase Louis a new, better, more comfortable chair from another company, as you can imagine these don't come cheap.

So, if any of you would like to donate - however small the amount may be, we really will appreciate it and thank you from the bottom of our hearts as we only want to be able to give Louis a better quality of life and also the independence like any other.
