I've raised £100 to Save Kestrels Gymnastics Club

ith my brother Leo and sister Darcie who are 9&6. ,Leo and Darcie xxMy name is Maisie and I’m a 14 year old gymnast. I train 4 nights a week at Kestrels Gym club in Chepstow. My coach Shirley is at gym 6 days a week and its her life. I love gym and was recently selected to represent Wales at the British Tumbling Championships for 3rd year in a row.
On Friday 20th March I left my gym club as normal but because of the Covid-19 pandemic have been unable to return to train. Our coaches have continued to try to help us train via zoom meetings to keep up our strength and conditioning but its been very difficult. They have applied for grants to help fund the club as its struggling financially in these difficult times but as so many clubs are applying they haven‘t been successful. The landlord now has told my club we have to pay £3000 a month rent even if we arent back training 😢😢 We may not be able to do this so I would like to fundraise to help save the club I love .
I am going to run and cycle 250 miles in total for the month of June in the hope of trying to raise some money for the club. I was inspired by my school pe teacher Mr Owens who is doing a similar thing for a mental health charity. This will also help keep me fit and active during lockdown.
Thanks for reading my story 😊
