On the 1st November following a nice evening out my dad became disorientated and confused and couldn't recognise his own family including my mum, siblings and myself. My mum immediately called 999. My dad was rushed to hospital and within minutes seen by the stroke nurse who made the life saving decision to call the consultant from home. He arrived very quickly at the hospital and immediately ordered for a brain scan to be completed on my dad. This was when we got the devastating news that my dad had experienced a stroke.

Due to the quick actions of my mum calling an ambulance and The professionalism of the nurse waiting for us at the hospital my dad was able to receive an injection to try and minimise the effects of the stroke.

This to our delight was a complete success and within 48 hours, although exhausted and weak my dad was discharged from hospital! This was only due to the professionalism, expertise and care of the consultant and staff at the Stroke Unit in Lincoln!

I am trying to raise money and awareness so that other families can be so lucky and have the same outcome that my dad has had! This injection cost £1000 to save my dads life, so if we can raise that money one other family will still have their loved one!

My dads first wish after getting out of hospital was to raise money and awareness in order to say thanks!
