UPDATE: Unfortunately Shayla's pain was too great and Clare and Leto had to say goodbye to Shalya yesterday after only 14 months together. Please help me support them through this difficult time but taking the financial burden of this unexpected vets costs away.

Shayla, who was my dog Silk's best friend from Thailand, has tragically been diagnosed wkth terminal pancreatic cancer, just 14 months after arriving to the UK to live with Clare and Leto, and their other dog Hobo.

The diagnosis came last week after Clare insisted on further tests as she knew Shayla was unwell. Shayla has tragically only been given approximately 2 months left of her too short life.

The vets bills have exceed £4000 (added on £500 extra for Just Giving fees) and I know that the cost will cause Clare an issue long term, but Shayla needed the care and so she had it arranged ofcourse. Clare hasnt asked me to set this up but i want to try to do something to make the time with Shayla that she has left easier.

I always intended to take Silk to visit her best friend on the Isle of Wight, when she was ready, to visit Shayla and tragically that probably wont happen.

Clare also volunteered to be the Adoptions Manager and a trustee for The Pack Project and dedicates so much of her time to the plight of strays across the world.
