Story
My friend’s 9 year old son, Ethan, was diagnosed with a very rare form of bone cancer in July last year and has since been undergoing intensive treatment to shrink, remove and prevent recurrence of the tumour in his chest.
I have only been running for a couple of years, but got more serious last year (when I ran Brighton Marathon). This year, I’ve been lucky enough to get a place in London Marathon through Vitality. Ethan’s dad, Jim, is a keen (awesome) runner (sub 3 hours!!!) who really supported and kept me on track with my training last year.
Like his dad, Ethan also loves running and can’t wait to get back out there once his treatment is finished. He was an active park-runner before his illness and was well on course to have completed 100 Park-runs before his 10th birthday, until cancer got in the way.
With all this in mind, this year, I would really like to use my marathon place to help.
Please sponsor me to raise money for Ethan and his family (whilst I hopelessly chase Jim's tale on 28th April!!) Thanks for your support.
