Story

In March 2019, we are travelling to remote areas in Kenya, east Africa to volunteer for one of three medical camps with the charity Patchworking Against Poverty. Over 9 days we will provide treatment, care, medical attention and support to those who desperately need it. The locals of Kenya (roughly around 3000-4000 people) will travel far and wide and will queue up and wait to see us from sunrise to sunset.

These local people have no access to medical attention whether that be dentists, doctors, first aiders or sexual health workers. It will be our job to provide them with what they need, ranging from injections to wound care to pain relief, minor illness and injury treatment, sexual health care and everything else in between.

We are raising money for medical supplies, medicine, clothes, toys and books for the children (also for those in the surrounding orphanage, Grace’s Care Centre.)

The medical supplies we will be taking with us will cost us around £7000 and the money raised will be solely spent on this.

*Please note, none of the monies raised goes towards any expenses for ourselves to go out to Kenya.* We will be camping and living very basically for the whole time we are providing treatment.

Thank you from the bottom of our hearts :-)
