    Story

Last October I went to Africa to help in a remote school in Sogakope, Ghana. I am still in contact with Nutifafa, who founded the school, and whilst I will travel back in the near future (hopefully with other volunteers), I want to continue fundraising to help them develop… they really need YOUR help.

The schools structure as shown in the photo is in need of reconstruction and we therefore need to raise money to help improve it. When it rains, the school has to close for the day as the rain leaks through the roofs and floods the classrooms. The classrooms are very basic and the outside area is not big enough for the increasing number of children.

Furthermore, the children and the teachers have to share the same toilet facilities, which is simply a hole in the ground. There is limited privacy and hygiene is an issue, therefore new toilet facilities are essential for their basic health and safety needs.

If we can together continue to raise money to help improve the schools structure, then I know that this will have such a huge impact on the children’s lives as their education is so precious to them.

I understand there are many horrific tragedies’ going on in this world and many other charities helping lots of causes; however, this school is really close to my heart and unless we do something to help, these children will not have the opportunities they deserve.

Although I have set a target of £1000 on “justgiving”, any money that is raised will contribute towards the future development and on-going education for this school.

Once enough money has been raised and the materials bought, the school will need volunteers to help construct the classrooms and the playground.

As ever, even the smallest donation will make such a huge difference to this school.

    Thank you all :)
