Story

** Fluffy updates are in the updates at the bottom of the page, his care continues, below is his original story and where his journey began **

Below, is where Fluffy's journey began....

Meet Fluffy!! He is a gorgeous, black, fluffy stray that has been visiting my neighbourhood for several years now. Myself and a couple of neighbours make sure he is fed when he visits and myself and another neighbour have made beds and a little hut in the shed for him to sleep in and get warm throughout the winter and bad weather. He's never really shown any signs of wanting to move in, as he is used to roaming and being outside and it as taken this long to gain his trust to be able to get close to him, but he has lived happily this way for a couple of years.

Now here comes the sadder part of the story... A few days ago he came to visit and it was clear he had been injured or attacked (we now know from the veterinary examination done yesterday on him, that he has been bitten in the eye). I immediately took him to the Vets, but as you are all aware, vets do not come cheap, and while the few that love and feed him, have contributed to his care I fear the bill is going to be beyond any of our budgets. I have spoken to the Cats Protection League to seek help on getting him treated, unfortunately they didn't want to know and passed me over to the RSPCA. The RSPCA have agreed to contribute just £50 towards his care. Yesterday's bill came to £75.60 and that was just for the consultation, some pain relief and antibiotics. I'm not prepared to have him put to sleep as he is full of life and only around 3 years old, my aim is to get the little man back to full health, neutered, shaved and vaccinated and find him a loving home that he so truly deserves. His eye is our first priority but because he is long haired he is matted so badly that it is causing him distress, if surgery is required he will be getting shaved as well to prevent pain underneath his body and around his neck.

Yesterday at the vets, his eye was in such a mess the vet couldn't even see his eye ball. Yesterday we started to treat the infection in his eye and surrounding area, we need to bring the inflammation down so the vet can asses the eyeball itself, as it stands we don't even know what is underneath his eye lid. The vet has already established a cut in his eye but that is as much as we know.

I am now caring for him in my home to give him a fighting chance, he is back at the vets tomorrow to see if they can save his eye and what the next step is in caring for him.

I'm here really to ask all animal lovers if they could spare a few pounds to help with the vets bills. Whilst I know it is a big ask to donate to a complete stranger, I am willing to show all receipts that come with his Veterinary Care and my neighbours that feed him are willing to vouch this is a genuine cause. If by any chance we manage to raise more than what is required to treat, care and bring him back to full health, the extra will be donated to our local Cat Rescue Centre HeronBank, who do an amazing job in ensuring the safety of cats and rehoming them when they are lost and abandoned.

I have set our target at £300 but that is just a pure stab in the dark, if it's worst case scenario and his eye has to be removed it could be a lot more, however if not, it may be less. I'll have a better idea after tomorrow's consultation.

Thank you all so much for reading, donating and sharing. Any donations, no matter how small are gratefully received.

Lots of love,

Lauren, Fluffy & Sage (my own cat who is rather bemused at our new house guest!)

P.S **Graphic** Below are a couple of pictures of his eye in its current state.

P.P.S If you would be interested in adopting Fluffy, please contact me through this page, I will be ensuring he goes to a good home so details will be required. Thank you again. X
