Hi and welcome to my crowd funding page, please read the full story however bare with me as it’s not a story I wish to be writing nor really know how to approach with such a bad news that has come to create it.

This is about my friend Ben a nottingham born man, born in 1987 and only the young age of 30 years old, he is a father of two children, his son aged 9 and his daughter 18 months of age which makes them a young family along with the mother of the children and fiancé to him.

He is or was a hard working man with a respectful job and main provider for the family with mum working part time at local doctors surgery, he is a role model parent,partner and work colleague and always someone that many could aspire to be.

He is a Avid football fan throughout all teams but is a strong supporter of his home town league 2 team Notts county F.C. he has been travelling to home and away games from a very young age with his father and uncle, he is well known within the supporters community on the online social media sites. He also has a very strong liking for the modified car enthusiast scene and has meticulously maintained some very smart motors...

The reason for this crowdfunding page is that sadly Ben has be out of work now for around 2 months due to what started as lower back, shoulder and groin area pain, this has now left him unable to walk and was rushed by ambulance into hospital early hours of Sunday whilst we slept. Over the last few weeks he has attended A&E several times with what I can only describe as 3 wrong diagnoses from several medical professionals within that A&E department, once arrived Sunday via ambulance he was subject to urgent scans whilst bed ridden in a admissions ward, and then to only what can be described as devastating news was delivered to him when he woke to the shadow over him from several more medical specialists,

He has been told that he has not only one but many tumours, 2x spinal tumours caused devastating damage to the discs and close to nerves and spinal cords causing extreme pain and can’t walk, he has 2x liver tumours, 1x chest cavity tumour, 2 lung tumours and 2x brain tumours. He survived melanoma skin cancer three years ago and was given all clear only in November just gone, now to be given this news must feel like life’s end. He has a great team of 5 specialists due to the several different areas affected all working extra hard to help the family.

My goals from this page are listed below because no work for him means no pay and that creates a disaster in the making with debts,bills etc rising whilst trying the battle the news and effects to his changing life.

Goals:

- To raise money to create a financial safety net allowing the mother and children to live whilst Daddy is ill in hospital and not have a worry.

- To raise money for once he is able to walk again after they decide the plan to remove the spinal cancer from which they have discussed to make him able to walk again, that they as a family unit can make memories and spent some fun and loving family time together.

- To raise money for any aftercare products he can privately buy to help him with recovery incl home and external improvements for his future and beyond.

This means the world to me as i have a strong attachment to the reasons behind it as i also recently lost my grandad after a 6 year cancer battle and he was my best friend from birth to his death, I used this site myself to raise money for a cancer charity when I ran a 13 mile marathon in derby for him also proving to myself that I’m now fitter than I was having battled through a 6st weight loss battle.
