My dads fight started 25 years ago when he was diagnosed with Crohn's disease. He has had to go through many operations, an incredible amount of pain and more recently he had to have a colostomy bag fitted.
But 2 years ago our world came crashing down when my dad was diagnosed whit stage 4 bowel cancer. The tumour was too big to remove so the only option was for him to have chemotherapy and for us all to pray it would shrink the tumour enough for it to be removed. The tumour shrank but the surgeons were not able to remove it all. He began a course of radiotherapy that seemed to keep the tumour from growing further.
But at the start of this year after finding a lump in his groin our family was left devastated once again when the doctors told us the cancer was now in his lymph nodes. He has just had a major operation to remove the lymph nodes and we are now waiting to hear what his future holds.
We are all huge Celtic fc fans and my dad would love to attend more matches but he is not fit enough to travel down to Glasgow for the day. I would love to manage to raise enough money to put him and my mum down to Glasgow for the weekend and get them a hospitality package for a game at Celtic Park.
