    Story

    Hello all,

Recently we made the decision to move the children’s club to a new venue, due to the current premises no longer being suitable or safe for our children. We are a family run business, which consists of a mother and 2 daughters. the last 6 years there have been times were we have been close to closing our doors due to many financial struggles, the credit crunch being the main issue. However we have maintained our little club and we have started to see it grow, but with no support from the local council or governement funding now or in the foreseeable future we have very little money left over once staff wages, utility bills, rent and insurances are paid to use for activities or new toys, furniture etc.

Our Children's club supports working parents, parents who want to further educate themselves and offer respite childcare for parents with disabled children. With many of our parents working, they too live on close to the breadline and we have found certain funding is not available for working parents, and will only offer support to those that are on benefits. We feel that our parents who provide such a positive advert for the area should get just as much support, therefore we keep our childcare costs as cheap as possible and ensure that the children are making happy memories whilst their parents are working towards a better future!

Currently we run an after school club which collects children from schools in Grimsby, Cleethorpes and surrounding areas, a holiday club and recently a new breakfast club. We always go above and beyond for our parents and ensure that they are as part of our club as their children are, which in turn provides a much needed service to our area helping to keep parents in work and boost our local economy. We are extremely proud of the fact that the club is its own little community, and the children continue these bonds when they leave us and head into secondary school seeing familiar faces that they've gotten to know through the club.

Our dream is to keep growing our services and offer a Teen club to the service package too. Not only will this help keep older children off the streets but will also help give them a purpose and grow self esteem and new friendships within our community group.

After years of struggling with second hand furniture, and toys, we have decided to change our company status to a Community Interest Company which means that any profit we make goes right back into the club and the community and therefore enables us to stay open. With this in mind we are desperate to raise funds for some new furniture and wondered if by doing a crowdfunder of our own this may raise the much needed funds we need to buy some new storage, furniture and toys for our new premises.

By donating as little as £1 it could make a huge difference to the space we are trying to achieve and help keep this much needed service in a new safe and clean space. #makememoriesforchildren.

    Thank you all
