We are crowdfunding in memory of our beautiful baby boy Elis Ifans. He was born on April 26th 2018 at 28 weeks and devastatingly, he fell asleep shortly after.
Our goal is to raise as much money as we can to purchase a CuddleCot for Glangwili Hospital. A CuddleCot is a specialist piece of equipment which cools and preserves the baby's body once they have passed away. It enables bereaved parents to spend quality time with their baby and make precious memories in the short time that they have together.
We were very fortunate to spend 4 nights with Elis because of the CuddleCot. We were able to hold him, talk to him, read him a story and introduce him to his big brother, spending time as a family.
Our target might seem like a large sum of money, but for us, the CuddleCot has helped us to process what has happened and brought us a tremendous amount of comfort, knowing that we were able to be his Mami and Dadi for a short while. Losing a child is every parent's worst nightmare and we never expected it to happen to us. We want to ensure that other bereaved parents going through this heartbreaking experience have access to this wonderful piece of equipment.
