My daughter was diagnoised with the cmv virus at a few days old. 2 to 3 babies will be damaged by the cmv virus everyday. Most people wont even know they have the cmv virus but if a pregnant woman passes it onto her unborn baby the consequences can be devastating. Cmv was discovered in thd 50s but there is still no vaccine. Cmv is responsible for 25% of childhood hearing loss. 5 out of every 1000 born with cmv will die at birth or their first year of life. other disabilities it can cause aee cerebal palsy,epilepsy,physical impairment,vision loss,adhd,behavioural and learning difficulties. The main way women catch cmv is from saliva or urine of small children.
