Story
On Sunday the 7th of April 2024, I will be running my first ever marathon on behalf of the Baby Harry Memorial Fund. Having known Baby Harry's parents, Dave and Lisa for my whole life it only feels right to run my first marathon for their cause.
The Baby Harry Fund was formed in 2001 to keep Harry's memory alive. Harry was born, full term, on 5th October 2001 at the Royal Sussex County Hospital, but was quickly diagnosed with a heart murmur. Harry was transferred to the Caleb Ward, the Specialist Baby Unit of Guy's Hospital in London.
Despite the excellent care of really brilliant, loving and dedicated individuals, Harry lost his very short life on 6th October 2001 aged just 1 day.
This fund is dedicated to raising much needed funds for both the Trevor Mann Baby Unit at The Royal Sussex County Hospital and Evelina Baby Unit at the Eveline Children's Hospital which is part Guys and St Thomas NHS Foundation Trust, helping both babies and parents who unfortunately find themselves in a similar situation as with Harry.
Many fundraising events have taken place over the years for Baby Harry including The Vitality Big Half in London where my dad ran his first half marathon two years ago in aid of the Baby Harry Memorial Fund. I feel incredibly honoured to be able to continue to fund raise for this amazing cause on behalf of my family.
Any donations would be greatly appreciated to continue to support their great work!
