I am very excited to be choosen from the 12th Colchester Sea Scout Group to represent one of the Essex units at the World Scout Jamboree in Summit Bechtel Reserve, West Virgin, USA in July 2019. We are really priviledged to be visiting New York, Washington, West Virginia and finally Canada as part of the Jamboree itinerary.

The World Scout Jamboree is above all an educational event that brings together the worlds young people to promote peace, mutual understanding and to develop leadership and life skills which includes a wide variety of outdoor adventure activities and places a great emphasis on everyday life and social interation among different cultures that is experienced through the Scouting Campsite.

I am required to raise funds to pay for this trip some of which are used to fund Scouts from poorer countries, so they are also able to attend the event in America. There will be young people from 164 national scouting organisations in 224 countries & territories.

2019 - 24th World Scout Jamboree

I have been fundraising throughout 2018 and so far have held a Quiz night with the scouts, painted and sold mini gnomes, car boot sales, bake sales & bag packing in a local supermarkets.
