Story

I'm going to be taking part in a charity abseil on Saturday 29th June 2019, down the Crowne Plaza(Oxford road, Manchester) to raise money for Royal Manchester Children's Hospital. But more specifically Ward 77, as most people will know is where I work. I am in complete awe of the work the hospital does as a whole, but definitely biased towards my own team.
Ward 77, is a ward caring for patients, that being very little babies all the way to older teenagers, withy varying conditions, main focuses being renal, urology and general surgery. A lot of these patients will come, recover quickly and go home just as happy as before, but for some this isn't the case. We have a lot of long term patients, where their day to day life will revolve around some kind of treatment or hospital visit. I always knew the hospital did amazing work, but since working on Ward 77, I've seen that first hand, continuing to do everything we can to make these children's lives better in any way we can!
This abseil just my way of trying to give something back to the team I work with, to raise money for our ward, which will benefit our patients and families. Deep down, I'm thinking I'm either brave or stupid for doing this... scared? Definitely!
Thank you for reading my story, and please donate to an amazing cause!
Lauren.
