Story
In September, we are doing the Screwball Rally to raise money for Whitby Wildlife Sanctuary.
As some of you may already know, they have been granted planning permission for a dedicated wildlife hospital. The building costs, electricity, plumbing and the works is estimated to cost around £120,000. They already admit over 2100 rescues every year, the charity is ever expanding and the number of casualties ever increasing.
Presently, the whole rescue is run from their home at Broomfields farm, but it is getting increasingly difficult to accommodate rescues from home. They need their own building.
At the moment they are managing to raise over £20,000 a year - this only covers the cost of everything else - food, veterinary costs, ambulance expenses, equipment, list goes on…
The Screwball Rally is a 5 day banger rally through Europe. We have already done the rally twice, raising money for Yorkshire Air Ambulance and Cancer Research. This year, we are doing it in an old Citroen C5 (surely that deserves some donations). We will visit 5 countries in 5 days, covering around 2,500 miles. We pay for the cost of the car, insurance, fuel etc so all donations made will go to Whitby Wildlife Centre.
