I've raised £1800 to East Africa Volunteering Project 2018

Tanzania 2018
The project enables me and 13 other students from Thornleigh Salesian College, Bolton, to travel to Tanzania in the summer of 2018. Here we will be working in a school to help teach and inspire the children, whilst taking learning resources to improve their educational experience. We will be given a topic by the school and then will have to work together to plan a lesson and present this to the class independently. We will teach lessons such as: Maths, English, Science and Sports. Our aim is to improve our own personal skills as well as helping to improve the learning of the children in Tanzania.
We will also be working on practical projects to better the facilities in Tanzania, in previous years this has included painting local orphanages and building a well. This improves the resources within the community which enable a greater quality of life for the people who live there. There will also be an additional opportunity to volunteer in the local hospital to gain greater experience in the health care setting.
This is a once in a lifetime opportunity to improve life in Tanzania, for the children and the adults, whilst also changing our perspective on daily life for the better.
Each student has been set the target of £1800.00 to be raised by June 2018 and so throughout the year we will be organising several fundraising events and all profits will go towards this project. In addition to this, we have to raise £6000.00 collectively as a group. Any donations will be greatly appreciated no matter how big or small.
I greatly appreciate your support to help me raise funds to allow me to experience this life changing trip in East Africa.
Thank you,
Lauren.
