Story

Hello, I have opened this fundraising page in honour of my very brave Brother-in-law, Lawrence, whose selfless act helped save alot of people from serious harm.

On the afternoon of Saturday 25th June 2022, after us celebrating a family lunch in the local Harvester, my brother-in-law and his family's lives were about to turn upside down. A man, a stranger to them, arrived on his own and started behaving very erratically, after contacting the police and after threatening behaviour occured to them and others around them, including teenage children, Lawrence stepped in to help.

Unfortunately the man was armed with a weapon which we later knew was a knife, still Lawrence intervened to selflessly help those around him, subsequently and unfortunately leading to him being stabbed 3 times in the process. Lawrence's brave act left him restraining this man even after being attacked by him, until the police arrived.

One of the injuries left him needing a 4 hour operation to repair muscle, tendons and nerve endings to his left leg. He was finally discharged from hospital after 5 days.

Lawrence now faces 6-8 weeks minimum of rehabilitation, physiotherapy and learning to walk with the aid of crutches until his leg will hopefully recover and he regains full movement and feeling. This has left him being unable to work, through no fault of his own.

Lawrence is a proud and loving family man, who we are all proud of and love, however faces the next few months without sickpay so I wanted to set up this page to ask for your help, big or small, to help them financially through this troubling time. He hasnt asked for this, but I hope it will release some pressure from him so he can concentrate on recovering well.

Any donation will be greatly appreciated.

You can read the story in the local paper by clicking the link attached.

Thankyou for reading, and thankyou for helping.
