Last year I started to raise funds with the Lotus Children's Education Trust (LCET) team – a charity started by the local Buddhist monk; Venerable Nagesena. This is a long-term, on-going project to build a school and a residential home for the orphan and the destitute children in the remote parts of Bangladesh.

Unfortunately, due to the recent severe flooding caused by the storm, in the hilly areas surrounding the village, there was a major landslide that affected and damaged parts of the children's newly built residential home. These children had already suffered losses in their lives, before they were hit by the violent storm, and are now facing the terrible after effects of it; experiencing both physical and mental trauma, a loss of already limited resources and a shortage of food supplies.

As in the case of any natural disasters, the serious impact left on especially children, can leave them feeling vulnerable, scared and distressed, with the spread of infections and diseases, malnutrition and exposed to other dangers.

We urgently request your help and support, to raise emergency funds to immediately supply the children with their basic needs, such as; clean water and food and to repair the damages to their living quarters.
