Simon was struck down with a life threatening infection of the spine in April 2017, he was an outgoing, hard working man until then, this left him paralised from the waist down with limited use of his upper limbs. Despite the odds and to the amazement of specialists he began to regain some feeling, he pushed and pushed himself through the pain and mananged to move his hands, then move his toes. After five long months in hospital three of those in Stanmore Spinal Injuries Unit he began to stand up then take a step until he could manage a short distance with sticks. Although he has been provided with a wheelchair its heavy and he hasnt the body strength to propel himself, unlike the one he had in Stanmore that was lightweight and he could zip about, due to this he dosent go out very much and we would like a more Simon friendly chair but they are expensive and we do not have this kind of money. Please help me help Simon.
