Story

After 9 consecutive years of rejected applications to medical school in the UK, due to fierce competition and limited spaces; I decided to apply to study medicine in Europe. I now have an offer of a place at Ostrava University in the Czech Republic and have now enrolled. I am hoping once I graduate to practice as a doctor in the UK, as the course is recognised by the General Medical Council, within the NHS, which will help with increasing the number of doctors in the UK as all of you may have heard in the news recently that there is a shortage of doctors.

I've tried applying for 32 scholarship programmes and countless grants to help raise the funds needed, however I have not been able to raise anything. Please help me keep my dream alive to help save and improve lives.

A monthly gift or one-off donation, however big or small, will make a real difference. Receive a monthly newsletter via email detailing my 4-week diary as a medical student with accompanying pictures.

£5 a month for a year will pay for a Visa - as from next year the UK will no longer be part of the European Union due to Brexit.

£12 a month for 1 year will pay for the flight to the Czech Republic from England in order to enrol for and start the next academic year.

£135 a month for a year would cover the costs of accommodation.

£270 a month for a year would cover both accommodation and housekeeping (food etc).
