Story
It all began with the school PE teacher (Mr T) setting himself a challenge of running 100km (since upped to 100 miles) in the month of February as a tribute to Sir Captain Tom Moore- who has been an inspiration to the nation since raising £33 million by completing 100 laps of his garden during the first lockdown.
Mr T thought it would be a good idea to promote this to staff, parents and pupils at Leamington Primary Academy to promote physical activity and the importance of making healthy lifestyle choices... it then grew as other staff members wanted to get involved and there were suggestions about raising money for charity... and what better charity than the Sir Captain Tom Moore Foundation! 50% of the money raised will be donated to the Sir Captain Tom Moore Foundation and the other 50% will be used towards a school minibus for Leamington Primary Academy. The pupils will benefit greatly from this as it will open lots of opportunities to attend sporting fixtures and events and will also provide transport for school excursions.
An INCREDIBLE team of 21 staff, parents and governors from Leamington Primary Academy are attempting to run 100miles, 100km or 33km each during the month of February.
Children from the school have also been inspired by Sir Captain Tom and many are completing their own challenges! Well done to all of our amazing pupils!
If you can provide sponsorship, no matter how small, this will be greatly appreciate by all those taking part in the challenge and all the children and families of Leamington Primary Academy... We would like to say a huge THANK YOU from everyone at TEAM LEAMINGTON!
