I'm raising £1000 to help fund the Leamington Sky Garden. Funds raised will support community activities and workshops to seek feedback on initial plans.

Story

The Hi-Line in New York City has motivated other communities around the world to re-purpose disused urban spaces and transform them into havens for wildlife, plants as well as to support well-being initiatives.

In Leamington Spa, we have the amazing opportunity to develop our own "copy-cat" Hi-Line. Next to the railway line are a series of railway arches that could be used for sustainable food planting, re-wilding as well as community activities such as bee-keeping and the arts.

We have recently set up a non-profit 'Leamington Sky Garden CIC' so that we can kickstart this project and seek community input. Some provisional plans are being drawn up at the moment - to make these happen, we are seeking donations!

Funds raised will be used to support community outreach activities such as workshops and events. We plan to use these activities to seek feedback on uses for the Sky Garden as well as to shape the garden for all.
