A dedicated developer by day and a charitable man by night. Venkatesh has been with Day Lewis PLC, a UK based highly successful independent pharmacy chain, for 7 years.

There is a small village called Mayiladuthurai in the South of India. This is a rural village where the residents are still struggling to get basic amnesties like water, electricity, food, clothing and basic education for children.
Venkatesh, during his time in UK found that his daughter, who lived with his family found it difficult to get basic education unless she travels long distances to go to school. There were very few local schools in the village. The only way to overcome this problem was to acquire admission in a private school which would be very expensive and Venkat’s daughter was lucky that he was capable of opting for private education. Venkat realised that there were so many people in the village who were below the poverty line and could not afford basic education for their children, that he had to take action to help.

He took it upon himself to take on the administration of lower end primary school. This school has 85 students in 5 classes. Most of them were from families below the poverty line who were unable to provide food 2 times a day to their children let alone pay the school fees or buy proper uniforms. The only reason the parents sent the children to school was to provide a basic meal to the students once a day. however these meal is cooked in a kitchen next to an open roof toilet that has no water supply. The class rooms look like sheds. The condition of the school is so pitiful that basic necessities like clean class rooms, water in toilets, cleanliness in the kitchen is missing let alone the books and other requirements for an educational institution.
