Story

A group of young people from Tulse Hill & Brixton have expressed a desire to come together to raise funds that will enable us to travel to Paris to provide people who are homeless with a hot meal, clothing, toiletries and a platform to share their stories to highlight the issues of homelessness. In partnership with Brixton Soup Kitchen, the young people who are often stigmatised in a negative light, want to come together for the greater good.

I bumped into an 18 year old young man who I have worked with previously, when at a community event in Loughborough. We had a catch up and he expressed an interest in traveling abroad to help the homeless and document their stories. He regularly helps out at the soup kitchen and is trying to live a life free of crime, enhancing his life opportunities whilst giving back to the less fortunate.

Having worked all over Lambeth for the past 10 years, bringing young people together from neighbouring communities has to be one of the greatest experiences.

We hear so often of 'post code wars' and the devastating effects this can have on our communities. Our aim is to bring groups of young people together from different postcodes, to build relationships, share ideas and visions for their futures, to embrace one another, to work together as a collective in order to help support and spread love to those in need.
