SURT are about to embark on our biggest hiking fundraiser yet!!!!!

Managing Director Leanne Hansen along with Presley the SURT super dog are hiking Scotland’s Skye Trail to raise £500 for local children and young people.

The Skye Trail is a challenging, uncompromising, unofficial long distance route through the stunning landscapes of the Isle of Skye. The trail covers 128km of tough terrain including spectacular mountain and coastal scenery. It follows much of the celebrated Trotternish Ridge and also passes under the very shadow of the jagged Cuillin, the finest mountains in Britain. There are remarkable but almost unvisited coastal cliffs and steep trails above high drops.

Money raised will be used to provide educational and social activities for children and young people who are vulnerable to relationship abuse (intimate partner harm, honour based abuse, stalking and harassment, sexual and criminal exploitation). Raised funds will also be used to facilitate activities for children and young people who have been directly harmed so that we can also contribute to supporting their recovery.

Please get behind SURT and the children and young people of South Tyneside to show that TOGETHER we can accomplish our goals! Leanne and Presley will be setting off from South Tyneside on the evening of Thursday 10th April 2025 and commencing the trail on Saturday 12th April 2025. Weather permitting staff aim to complete the trail in 7-8 days.
