Hi everyone I'm Leanne and I'm a 32 year old female from the north east of England. A year ago I was was massively obese with a BMI of almost 46. I have two young children and work as a support worker, caring for people with aquired brain injuries. So my weight really affected my personal and my working life. I decided to do something about it. I looked into weight loss surgery but didn't like the idea of not really learning how to eat properly and running the risk of falling back into old habits. Plus it can cost the NHS anywhere from £8,000-14,000 for a gastric bypass. So I decided to do it the old fashioned way and joined my local Slimming world. So far I've lost almost 5.7 stone and have about 3 more to go. I'm so proud of myself! The down side is that I'm left with unsightly lose skin on my abdomen. The NHS will not help me with this even though it costs less than the bypass surgery. There'll be some of you who may think It's my own fault but I have PCOS and IBS which can make it difficult to lose weight. I feel awful at the moment I should be so happy after such an achievement but I feel disgusting. So I'm asking if anyone can relate to or has been through this to donate a small amount to my cause. I will be eternally grateful and you'll make me very very happy 😊 If I make over what I need I will donate it to cancer research. Please help me finally be who I want to be.
