Hi my name is Leanne and my husbands name is Martin. On August 2nd 2018 we were given the devestating news that our beautiful daughter aged just 23 , Lauren has Hodgkins Lymphoma. we were told that this is an aggressive form so needed to start Chemo as soon as possible. Over the next week we had to take her for lung functions tests, a heart scan, a PET scan and a fertility appointment, unfortunately because of how aggressive it is the only option left for Lauren was to have monthly injections to try and suppress her ovaries which would put her into a temporary menopause. We were given the 13th August as her first day/round of chemo, and although we were all extremely scared we had a goal an action plan if you like. On the 7th August Lauren had terrible sickness and a temp of 38.8, after speaking with her nurse at UCLH London she advised us to bring her in and we are still here! We live in Luton, Bedfordshire but have been in London now since the 7th August.

Lauren is such a beautiful, kind, funny girl with such a love of life. Her and her partner worked so hard to save enough money for a deposit for their very first home. She is such a determined focused girl but this has knocked her and I want her to have hope and stay positive.

Watching her day by day lose her sparkle is beyond anything I can explain. We feel so lost, She has been so poorly and we feel completley useless. The little savings we had have gone and believe me I am not bothered, However we now are in a worrying situation, where she could be in London for another week or two but even if we do get to come home we have another 3 rounds which means staying for 5 days then returning for a day for a further 2 weeks each round.

Please help us we have never asked anyone for anything, and we never would if it wasnt so desperate, we want/need to focus on Lauren 100% but thats hard when you know that you need to cover travel to all appointments which will be trains if well enough or taxis, meals, she will need head scarfs, wig, clothes (already lost weight) accupuncture (for sickness) accomodation.
