    Story

I have spinal degenerative disc disease. 3 of my discs have slipped and degenerated and I have undergone 2 surgeries. The surgeries were unsuccessful in relieving my pain and, as a result, I had to give up further education and my employment. I am now reliant on a cocktail of 15 tablets a day merely to manage my pain which is constant and severe and as I experience unexpected and frequent muscle spasms, I often have to go to the A&E Department - draining staff time and resources. There is treatment available which is, unfortunately, not covered by the NHS. The treatments are carried out by a registered Osteomyologist and continued, regular treatments would allow me the chance to have a much better quality of life. However, the treatments are £60 per 45 minute session and, as my condition prevents me from being able to work, I cannot cover this cost alone. I have been living in pain since I was 14 years old - 23 years now - and it is only getting worse. This treatment is the only option left which could provide me long lasting pain relief. This would, in turn, allow me to reduce the prescription drugs I rely on. I know in these hard times there are so many causes which are so deserving and I know that (unlike the Government) people don't have money trees. I'm not saying I deserve this more than anyone else, all I can assure you is that it will change my life immeasurably and I would be eternally grateful for any support.
