Story
Karen first got diagnosed with breast cancer on the 9th of March 2020. This resulted in her having a mastectomy and some lymph nodes removed she also had to have a course of chemotherapy. On the 28th of October last year Karen finally got to ring the bell and thought her nightmare was over. Then at the start of February this year she lost the feeling in her left arm, concerned she rang her cancer nurses who advised her to go to hospital, after scans and various checks she was told on the 15th of February it was lymphedema. Karen then started to lose the feeling in her left leg and on the 1st March she was then given the devastating news she had a brain tumour. After being consulted by the specialist surgeon on the 3rd of March she had brain surgery. Although the operation was classed as a success they were unable to remove all of the tumour, and she will now be on anti-seizure drugs for the rest of her life. Karen was also given another blow on the 5th of March that the cancer, she thought she had beaten, has now spread to both lungs having multiple tumors in them both. Today on the 29th March Karen saw the specialist and now devastatingly has been told she is terminal 💔 she has, at the best, 12 months. Karen is still fighting hard to stay alive as long as she can for her family. Karen, who is only 36 has been through more in one year than many of us will face in a life time. I have set up this Just Giving page to try help Karen make as many memories as she can in the precious time she has left. There was already a family holiday booked but this will now have to be brought forward (covid allowing) before the chemotherapy makes it hard for her to enjoy her time she has left with her devoted partner Shane, and her children Beth 18, Lucas 12, and Peyton who heartbreakingly is only 3. This lady, fighter, partner, mother, family and friend to many, sure is one hell of a strong lady and will not go down without a fight. I know I would like to help her make some more memories and am sure her friends and family would too. Please if you can dig deep the smallest amount will help. Thanks for taking the time to read Karen’s story and I am sure everyone is behind her with this fight xxxx
