Story

Myself and my dad are embarking on another trek - this time to the Sahara Desert - to raise money for the Bedfordshire Down's Syndrome Support Group.

The BDSSG is a parent-run charity that receives no funding and relies solely on voluntary donations and fundraising to continue running, and to continue providing the incredible support and resources that it does for families of children and young adults with Down's Syndrome across the county.

This is a charity very close to our hearts. These young people and children at the BDSSG deserve the very best of everything – they are incredible, polite, fun and loving individuals who touch the hearts of anyone who meets them. The parents who run the committee are inspirational – they are so dedicated to providing families across Bedfordshire with the loving and caring support network that they need, that they somehow manage to juggle caring for a child with additional needs with caring for the rest of their family; employment; and the pressure of keeping the charity going.

Please help us try and relieve some of that pressure - we aim to raise £3,000 which is the annual cost of the speech and language therapy that is one of the many things the group provides.

From us, and everyone at the BDSSG, THANK YOU!
