Story
Too often, rural communities wake on a Monday morning and have to count the cost of another weekend of forest and moorland fires
Too often, local Fire and Rescue teams, usually staffed by part time or volunteers, are putting their life on the line extinguishing these fires
Too often, peoples livelihoods are damaged or destroyed by irresponsible and reckless behaviour
In a worrying trend, disposable barbecues are increasingly being blamed for these fires. Tinder dry grassland and fire tend not to mix well!
The aim of this group is to encourage and persuade retailers, local and national, to voluntarily remove these items from sale, immediately.

5 years agoWow! We are thrilled to have reached our initial target in just a few short hours. This fund was originally set up to help with expenses such as domain name purchase, Freedom of Information requests etc. However, we are going to increase the target and use the money to enable us to reach a wider audience by creating flyers/posters/stickers and put into action some of the suggestions made by our wonderful group members. Your money will enable us to do so much more. Thank you x
