Story
For decades, the Long Eaton Baptist Church hall has been a place where our community gathers, grows and belongs.
Every evening it’s filled with life — theatre groups rehearsing, musicians practising, Scouts learning and laughing.
It’s a home for creativity, friendship and opportunity.
But its story goes even deeper. During the Second World War, this hall became the H.M. Forces Social Centre, offering warmth, recreation and welcome to service men and women stationed in Long Eaton. More than 1.5 million visits were made — a remarkable legacy of kindness and community spirit.
Today, that same spirit continues.
And now, we need your help to protect it.
We’re launching a 6‑week appeal to raise £2,000 toward refurbish the community hall so it can remain a safe, accessible and welcoming space for generations to come.
Your gift — whatever the size — helps us honour the past, support today’s community groups, and build a future where everyone has a place to belong.
Thank you for standing with us and helping keep this special place alive.
