Story

Hi all

My name is Lee Brotherton and a lot of you know me as an out-going friendly and confident character.

What some if not all of you do now know is the demons I have had to deal with over recent times with regards to my mental health tackling severe depression and anxiety. This is something I am neither embarrassed to talk about or ashamed of.

Over time, I have managed to control the above with professional help and great friends and family and now I want to give something back to society to those in less fortunate situations or to those who simply do not know what is available to them.

Project 14 is a group of people that aim to raise awareness and funds for mental health charities and services that can help local people across Barnsley and the Dearne Valley.

I can personally relate to this cause having lost a good friend in 2004 (aged 26) and my birth father in 2009 aged 52 both of whom took their own lives leaving a trail of devastation behind them.

Now having considered various charities (and crowd-funding pages) to raise money for when myself, Hayley and Peter (a good friend) run the following 1/2 Marathon on Saturday 19th October this year, we all feel this cause is as good if not better than any we have come across.

So...friends, family and colleagues....please dig deep and support this great cause.

100% of funds raised by us on this page will be transferred to the following page where Tom & Beth will distribute the funds as they deem necessary to raise awareness

Thank you
