    Story

Hello and thank you for taking the time to read into my page and acknowledge what I am trying to do.

A very good friend of mine and his families life took a shocking U-turn last year where in the middle of the night his partner suffered a major stroke.

She is only in her late 20's and it was a shock to all of us. Initially they didn't think she would ever wake up but thankfully she is now conscious but unable to move or speak which I can only imagine to be one of worst things that could happen to a human being.

She was also carrying his baby and she already has two of her own children who have also been deeply traumatised having to be cared for by grandparents and in and out of the hospital daily. The stress and worry he has been through I cant even imagine.

Amazingly the baby was recently delivered by a C- section and is in good health but it has left her in a lot of pain physically and mentally as the baby is not allowed to be there with her. Taking a new born from a mother isn't natural but she is unable to care for him.

My friend isn't the type to ask for anything as he is a proud man but he is unable to work now as he is by her side everyday and bringing up the baby which is all very new to him.

I have set this page up without mentioning his name as I know he wouldn't like what I'm doing but for all of you that know me you probably know who I'm writing about.

The reason for my fundraising is to just try and make his life a little easier financially as we all know things like parking, food and even the cost of the TV in Addenbrookes is quite frankly a joke. I also want him to just have some money to buy essentials for his baby boy as again they are not cheap.

I will be doing the London to Cambridge bike ride on the 2nd of July . I entered for a bit of fun but thought it would be a great opportunity to try and raise some money for my friend.

I will start by donating the first £100, anything you can spare would be greatly appreciated.
