Story

So the photo shown is one of Mum on her 50th birthday. Happy. A husband. A buisness. 2 years later everyting changed. On the 22/12/2013 I had gone round to see Mum. I’d been knocking for some time and couldn’t get a reply. My spidey sense was tingling and I knew something was wrong so kicked the door in (left my key at home) to gain entry. She was in the bathroom. Collapsed on the floor with no movement. Everything after that was a blur. We ended up in Romford hospital as having been admitted to southend general they said she’d suffered a stroke/aneurysm and that they’d need to send her by blue light to Romford. Three operations to keep her alive. Another one to put a titanium plate in to bridge the gap left by removing part of her skull. All of this may have been made easier by her husband standing by her. But no, he left. Took as much as he could and left Mum in debt and with nothing. She lost her independence. Her home. Her husband. Her possessions. Lost it all in the space of three months. 5 years on and she’s as well as she’ll ever be. Able to live on her own again she now has been given a flat. People have been generous already. But the flat it’s self has no carpet. She’s in need of a cooker, double bed. I’m also tryng to get carpet for as much as the flat as i can as bedroom, hallway and stairs have been removed. Anything I can raise through here will all go towards that. Unfortunately I just don’t earn enough to be able to do it all for her. Any help that can be given would make us eternally grateful. Just taking the time to read this pledge is heart warming enough.
