Story
On a Sunday morning back in 2014 I had a distraught message from my beautiful friend Aimee. Her little boy Jacob had been rushed into hospital with terrible headaches and a suspected brain tumour...he was 9 yrs old ! Just a few days later..on his 10th birthday he endured a 10 hour operation to retrieve a biopsy. After a week of waiting....the results were that he has an inoperable brain tumour. Since then Jacob has traveled to USA to try Proton Therapy and undergone many procedures.
At the time I had already committed myself to raise money for my friend who had an aggressive breast cancer.
I am now raising money for Jacob... who deals with so much on a daily basis. Not only will the money raised will help Jacob and his family, as they have no support system and regular scans, procedures, scares and counselling that are not only extremely emotionally draining but costly too....but to create awareness of brain tumors and symptoms particularly in children. Every day 25 people are diagnosed with a brain tumour - that's over 9,300 people every year. Brain tumours are the biggest cancer killer of the under 40's, including children. Survival rates have not improved over the last 40 years -
just 19% of people survive for 5 years or more.
If all of my friends donated just £1....it would make an amazing difference to a family living day to day with a child with an inoperable brain tumor.

see what an amazing little boy Jacob is....he is a little super hero !!!

6 years agoSo, due to recent events, sadly my training had been set back 8 weeks BUT I'm throwing myself into it now.....to make up for lost days. By me helping Aimee and her family...its actually helping me..get my head together..so its a win win :) I'm now doing 'running club' on a Monday morning (oh boy what a way to start the week) Personal training & 121 yoga on Tuesdays. Thursdays have now become 'train with hubby day' which sounds like fun but believe me he's much fitter than me and puts me through my paces..and I'm sure he's upping my weights !!
