Story

So happy to have achieve our goals with all of our fundraising, we will set new challenges but with pending operations we cannot dedicate our time to that right now. Please keep your eyes peeled....

NEW CHALLENGE - 'ISLA WIGHT'

220+ ROUND TRIP

We love a challenge and when we told our family about The Santa Visit they jumped at the chance to help her achieve her dream.

Santa asked Isla "What would you like a Christmas?"

Without hesitation -

A PURPLE BIKE with the worlds biggest smile

Santa was lost for words with a tear in his eye, we looked at each other and just welled up. What do you say to a girl who can't ride a bike.

No such word as CAN'T in our house, the family have mustered together 10 riders who will complete the challenge to aid her towards her hand-cycle from TomCat Trikes. This will allow her to cycle with her friends and come on bike rides with us as a family. We have had amazing support so far and cannot thank you all enough.

Journey so far below.....

We are now assisting with local rugby players and assisting them into their rugby seasons

Russ Trotman - Utility Forward - Supermarine 1st

Tara Godby - Scrumhalf - Cheltenham Tigers

This is Isla!

Finding out that ‘Bubbles’ now Isla wasn’t going to be ‘normal’ came as massive shock to us. Sitting at your 20 weeks scan thinking ‘boy or girl?’ No, a world that’s flipped upside down. Through the doomed outlook we were stood hand in hand ready to face whatever life threw at us! After multiple surgeries rolls a girl who doesn’t let anything phase her, happy, cheeky and lets face it, A girl that knows what she wants and has Daddy wrapped exactly where she wants him. What 2 year old daughter hasn’t worked that trick already.

I’m tremendously proud and inspired by who she has become. This Madame is determined not to be beaten. Isla is loved by everyone who cares for her and the stories we hear just makes us laugh, a constant term used by her childminder ‘she lights up our world’ Making silly noises as if she’s a car, spinning in her ZipZac until she looks like she wants to sick (something we do not promote😂)

Arnold Chiari 2 impacts the functions we take for granted, breathing, eating, swallowing, who actually thought that was a thing. This sometimes has a impact on dinner times but as long as it’s garlicky she’s happy!

Her wheels provides her the independence she thrives on. Out of her wheels.....she shrinks and fades away. She can’t run around like the others, Isla has to sit watching. As soon as she has her ZipZac she is the life and soul of the party. A lightweight, streamline, bespoke wheelchair will allow her to flourish at home and at school as she grows.
