£465raised of £214 target by 24 supporters

Weʼve raised £465 to pay for a yearly Cineworld membership for Lewis who was brutally assaulted while protecting his friends from an unprovoked attack.

    Swindon, UK
Funded on Friday, 31st August 2018

    What is crowdfunding?

Crowdfunding is a new type of fundraising where you can raise funds for your own personal cause, even if you're not a registered charity.

The page owner is responsible for the distribution of funds raised.

    Story

Ann Fitzgerald, a resident of Tadpole Garden Village recently informed us that a young man she knew called Lewis was brutally attacked last Friday by 3 unknown attackers. Lewis did his best to fight them off, preventing his friends from injury. Sadly Lewis was not so lucky. Suffering broken ribs, fractured cheek bone and a fractured eye socket to name but 3. Ann has pointed out that he enjoys going to the cinema so I think it would be nice if we could club together and get him a yearly pass for Cineworld cinema. The target has now been met so any extra funds raised will be spent on the advice of Lewis' parents.

Firstly, thank you to everyone who has made a donation. The kindness and generosity shown has been exceptional. My wife Laura met with Lewis and his dad yesterday at the TGV ladies picnic. He is keen to start driving lessons soon and we feel that this is a better way to spend the money raised. Not on a cinema membership. I understand this is not what we originally set the page up for so if anyone has any objections please get in touch and we can discuss the matter. Lee

I'm just a regular guy who was appalled by the brutal and unnecessary attack on a lad I didn't know. So I felt the least I could do was try and help out. After all, it could have been one of my kids.
