Life brings many ups and many downs.
Recently a close family friend, Lee Wishart, discovered he has stage 3 testicular cancer. He’s 41 years old, has a wife and 2 kids and is starting the fight of his life. I’ve known Lee for 22 years, ever since he first picked me up for work in his Vauxhall Corsa, happy hardcore dance music pumping out the stereo. Since that memorable day, I’ve created many unforgettable memories; the trip to Australia, our 2 years together in Singapore, Mel’s 30th birthday party when he decided to wear his wetsuit, the numerous family trips to Saratoga Springs and CentreParcs. Unforgettable memories that will continue for many years to come…
Everything becomes less important when you receive the heartbreaking news you have cancer.
In 2012, Lee, his wife Melanie and their 2 girls moved, from Scotland, to upstate New York to start the next exciting journey of their lives. For the last 5 years, Lee, Mel and the kids lived out the American dream. Then, 4 weeks ago, they received the devastating news that Lee has stage 3 cancer.

Lee’s Story
February 8th, 2018 will be a day I will never forget, it was the day my world fell apart, I was diagnosed with Testicular Cancer. Over the last three or four weeks I have undergone 2 urgent surgeries, multiple scans, MRI’s and recovery.
On Monday March 5th I will begin intense Chemotherapy, the cancer has spread to my lungs. I am strong and positive about the future and ready for the fight. This evil disease has picked the wrong Scotsman to inflict its misery!

Lee’s battle against cancer has put life into perspective for many of us close to him. We are all extremely proud of his dignified and positive attitude.
Since being diagnosed, life has been one big roller coaster, full of ups and downs for Lee and his family. This will continue for the foreseeable future until he overcomes this battle.
Unfortunately in the US, Healthcare is not free at the point of use, as it would have been if Lee had been home here in Scotland. That means that Lee will need to contribute vast sums of money to continue to pay for the urgent and costly medical treatment he needs to fight this disease.
When I got the heartbreaking news I felt I had to do something to help them battle through one of the biggest challenges life can throw at you. I’m sure many of you feel exactly the same.
As Lee and the family focus on returning him to good health, they shouldn’t have to worry about the financial burden associated with fighting for his life.
The best way that me, you, family, friends and strangers can help and support Lee is to donate.
If you can’t support them financially, please donate your words of support, these are just as significant to him during this difficult period.
For the last couple of months I’ve been training hard and and in support of Lee, on the 28th April 2018, I plan to run 53 miles along the West Highland Way (The Highland Fing Race). I'm certain that the inspiration to raise money for such a worthy cause will push me through every single mile.
Please dig deep and donate now. Even better, why not do something inspirational yourself to help raise even more for Lee’s family.
Life's too short, just do it. Kevin
