Story
I'm raising funds for The Lighthouse School in Cookridge, Leeds again.
The Lighthouse is a phenomenal educational establishment for children with a diagnosis of autism. Delivering outstanding education based around 'tailored to the individual' learning programmes, the Lighthouse requires constant funding for specialist equipment and resources, for example sensory learning tools and so on.
As a father of an autistic child, getting the best educational resouces in place is vital.
A crack team of education professionals with a special interest in autism, led by the fantatsic Head Teacher, Emma Sullivan are absolutely dedicated to the kids in school and passionate about ensuring all pupils get the best start in life possible.
The last few years I've been doing various walking challenges as well as a couple of kayaking challenges along the Leeds Liverpool canal.
This year it's back to the canal again, but on two wheels and on the towpath rather than the water.
I'll be hitting the Leeds/Liverpool Canal to cycle the entire 127 miles from Leeds to Liverpool... and back again - 254 miles in total.
I'll be completing this challenge over 3 days (85 miles per day) starting in Leeds on Tuesday 23rd June 2026, arriving Liverpool around lunchtime on Wednesday 24th June then finishing back in Leeds on Thursday 25th June 2026. I've managed to rope in a couple of mates, Dom and Joe, who have already been indoctrinated and are now chanting the usual mantra of ‘How hard can it be?’!!
Again, this is specifically to raise funds for the amazing Lighthouse School, so please get involved and make a donation of whatever you can afford for this incredibly worthy cause.
Thanks for reading, donating and supporting us. We won't let you down!
Cheers
Jonny, Dom & Joe
