The ‘old boys’ are back!!!!

Following on from our successful climbs of Ben Nevis in 2023 and Snowden 2025 where we raised over £25k for charity. Our group of ‘old’ uni mates from Leeds are planning to complete the 3 peaks by climbing Scafell Pike over the 1st wkend in October 2026.

Mouth Cancer Foundation

The majority of the participants have dental & medical backgrounds, as such oral cancer is of

significant concern for us.

There are over 8,800 new cases of mouth cancer in the UK every year.

The majority of deaths from mouth cancer occur because of late detection, due to a low

public awareness of the signs, symptoms, and risks. Self-checks for mouth cancer take just 2

minutes and could save your life, or someone you know.

The Mouth Cancer Foundation exists to save and improve the lives of patients, carers and

survivors, increase awareness and education about all head and neck cancers. Making sure

that everyone knows about mouth cancer so that cases can be caught earlier and patients are

more likely to survive.

Fund raising in support of Unicef:

Children in the State of Palestine are not safe. Despite the ceasefire announced in October 2025, children in Gaza continue to be killed. Attacks by Israeli forces on civilian infrastructure for over two years have left Gaza in ruins. The entire population lacks suitable shelter, clean water or healthcare.

On average, a child has been killed every single day in Gaza for more than eight months.

A ceasefire where children continue to be killed cannot be the new normal.

In the West Bank, rising settler violence and military operations are putting children’s safety at risk in their communities, schools, and homes. Displacement and movement restrictions are cutting children off from education, healthcare and other essential services, disrupting every aspect of their lives.

UNICEF is providing urgent, life-saving support, protecting children and helping to restore essential services across the State of Palestine

MIND - mental health charity:

Every year, 1 in 4 adults in England and Wales experience a mental health problem. And right now, more young people than ever are reaching crisis point – with emergency referrals in England rising by over 50% in just 3 years.

But at the same time, we’re seeing mental health pushed down the list of priorities by government and funders. Inequality and injustice are getting worse – and too many people are left without the support they need.
