Story
Lee has signed up to do the Great Yorkshire Bike Ride this weekend!
This is an annual 70 mile charity cycle ride from Wetherby to Filey, the ride takes place in some of Yorkshire's best countryside through the Howardian Hills and the Yorkshire Wolds to the coast.
On his way to victory (personally I'll be impressed if he finishes the race in one piece!) Lee is hoping to raise money for Annie's Independence Fund. He bought his first bike since childhood last week (typical!) and so far has managed one practice run! He is completing the challenge alongside his partner Jodie and son Kieran.
Annie is Lee's next door neighbour, she is 11 years old and has suffered with osteosarcoma (bone cancer) in her left leg last year. Unfortunately Annie had to have her leg removed in January this year, and her family are raising funds to make her garden wheelchair friendly, whilst providing her with a safe outdoor space to be able to spend time with friends, family and beloved pets. It will also help to give her access to and from her house, giving her a much better quality of life.
