We are raising £15,000 to enable Lochryan Pipe Band to compete in 2027.

Lochryan Pipe Band has faced dramatic change since being crowned Champion of Champions in 2018. Dedicated efforts from Scott McCaig, John Harvey and Murray Stewart over the past few years have revived this proud Stranraer institution and Lochryan has reintroduced pipes and drums to Stranraer so that we might participate in local events and promote the toon outwith the local area. The band is now mostly made up of young people thanks to our work in local schools, which is fantastic but it is vital that we supply uniform and equipment for our young people. We also need to maintain our hall so they have somewhere to practice.

2027 is going to be a massive year for Lochryan, we are aiming to compete in 8 competitions across Scotland, the pinnacle of which will be the World Championships. This will mean so much to the youngsters in the band after all their hard work and it will be a massive boost to the people of Stranraer to see Lochryan compete again. Please help us raise the funds we need for additional uniforms, equipment and transport so we can achieve this goal.
